‘Elena de la Cruz’ Art School welcomes from Monday a conference dedicated to refugees in art.
The School of Art ‘Elena de la Cruz’, dependent of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of the regional government of Castilla La Mancha, hosts between the 19 and 23 March the IV Guadalajara Art & Design Week under the title ‘Humanity in exile ‘, the school will be the scene of conferences and colloquia open to all citizens who will address issues related to refugees. On Wednesday 23, at 10:45 am, the presentation “The tale of The Architecture and The Refugees. Poetic links in the architectural creative process”. It will be borne by Joaquín Millán Villamuelas, from the awarded studio OOIIO Arquitectura, an international team of architects, designers and engineers committed to finding that “I do not know what it is” that makes a work special, emotional and transmits sensations that a vulgar work will never achieve .
Joaquín Millán Villamuelas, director and founder of OOIIO, will expose, through several examples, the creative process followed in OOIIO Architecture Studio.
It is a post-modern positioning, which develops methods based on surrealist techniques, which introduces links to all kinds of objects and non-architectural techniques in Architecture.
This is how literature was used in one of the architectural projects of the OOIIO Team, “The Tale of The Architecture and The Refugees”, awarded and exhibited in the Spanish Pavilion of the Venice Architecture Biennale 2016.
