ARTELUGIOS

Urban design inspired by the world of fairs.

The Plaza as the space of expression and social relationship par excellence, an area that holds daily collective life.

A Cultural Plaza. A place of expression and knowledge in the open air. This proposal was born with the ambition to give identity and character to an island. Show its modernity to the world,

without forgetting to conserve and reinterpret the memory of its inhabitants, the incredible natural spaces of Lanzarote, its art, its heritage.

In the square different environments coexist where the central space that unites them allows to develop all kinds of spontaneous activities, giving rise to a highly flexible and dynamic space

TEACHING, LEISURE, VERSATIL, SENSORIAL, ACCESSIBLE, UNIVERSAL, SUSTAINABLE

THE PLACE FOR MY RECREATION

This plaza prints identity and character to the public space.

An urban design that acts as a balance between the city and nature, its inhabitants can perceive the explosion of sensations that the proposed system arouses:

A group of light circular structures that embrace you, collect you, invite you to escape from the dynamic urban flow, to move you to an environment that favors the stay, rest, recreation, contemplation.

We propose a walk through a contemporary landscape with constant winks to the island’s own elements that take you to an atmosphere where water and nature are always present, generating fresh spaces with cast shadows and rooms for collective enjoyment.

The circle has been chosen for this urban design as an expression of the unit that closes in on itself and protects.

It is the form that contains the other forms. It represents the cycle of life that has neither beginning nor end.

In each ARTELUGIO we identify this desire to exalt and value sensory and natural aspects, the water, the native vegetation, protected by the volcanic rocks of the island, promoting recreation, reading, music, and sound. All this through simple structures designed on environmental and sustainability principles. If your place is sustainable, you start to give value to sustainability, you introduce it in your day to day.

It is a dynamic space. We play with color, essential in our proposal of circular spots that spread across the floor, expanding and blurring the current limits of the square.
