“I-Rock” is a Stand that can change configuration by placing different exhibition elements in different places. It can be easily opened and closed thanks to hinges and wheels that rotate two of its pieces, changing its appearance a lot when it is in operation or not.

When it is closed it is a container that protects all the informative material (televisions, possible sidewalks so that some tired travelers around it, brochures, computers, etc.) feel and that when it is opened, all that material is exposed and shown to visitors

Instead of posing the typical Stand in which a person informs you behind a counter, we believe that it is a much better solution to design an exhibition Stand that can be crossed, where that person who works there can accompany you on the tour, you can talk with She face to face, as you would talk to a friend.

INTEGRATION WITH THE ENVIRONMENT:

One more rock in the hall.
There is no simpler and cheaper way to improve the environment where the Stand will be integrated than to imitate and enhance existing existing decoration.

Right now if we go inside the terminal building we can see a series of large black rocks that decorate and personalize the environment.

Our building will be one more rock, which will contribute to enhance the existing rocks and which in turn will be integrated with total naturalness in the current space.

The walker will always observe the Stand as an attractive and special object, both open and closed, from the ground floor and from the top floor, since thanks to its geometry and finishes, even from the deck it will also be perceived as a rock.

With a simple sheet of green vinyl on the ground, we can join all the existing hall rocks with the new Stand, giving a common identity and a sense to the decoration of the entire interior of the terminal, and inviting visitors even more to approach the “new information object”.

BUILDING:

Good pretty and cheap.
It has been sought at all times to choose cheap materials, very common in the market of easy handling so that the cost of the Stand is minimal, but its final appearance is excellent.

Each and every side of our rock is perfectly sized, so the budget is quite tight and defined.

The construction would be quick and clean, mounting the Stand in a short space of time.

MATERIALS:

Each material has its meaning.

This construction is like a small chest that contains all those sensations that we can enjoy in Lanzarote, and the materials are loaded with meanings and references to the nature of the island:

The black painted plasterboard that covers the exterior full of “pores”, like all other volcanic rocks that flood the island reminds us of the lunar black of its landscapes.

The intense bright green of the polycarbonate that covers its interior, we can associate it with the natural crystals of olivine minerals that abound in Lanzarote.

The “pores” of our stone, will be made with transparent polycarbonate tubes, embedded in the Pladur, so that the interior lighting can go through them, generating very special sensations.

We can even put on the Stand cactus, whose pots would be located in some of those “pores” of the Stand, imitating the way in which the vegetation is born between the hollows of the volcanic rocks…

This combination of materials will make the tourist who arrives on the island for the first time will be surprised to see a very attractive object visually, modern, special, that will undoubtedly capture his attention inside the terminal, taking a very positive first impression of Lanzarote fresh

STRUCTURE

Light stiles.

This rock would be built with the same system that American houses are built, following a practical and fast system of structural uprights, to which secondary uprights are screwed, on which the enclosure materials are fixed.

To build this rock, we can assemble it by pieces, by faces, and then join them all together as if it were a puzzle.

INSTALLATIONS:

Low consumption led.

The Stand has incorporated several strips of led lighting of low consumption located between the two layers that make up the walls: The opaque layer of Pladur towards the outside, and the transparent layer of bright green polycarbonate towards the interior.

When placing the LEDs between these two layers, when it is open we will see how the rock radiates light like a green gemstone.
On the outer walls you can see that green light coming out through those of the “pores” of polycarbonate tubes that cross the Pladur and contrast with the color of its black paint.
