The OOIIO Architecture Studio concludes the work of a comprehensive reform in a cozy apartment in Madrid R\u00edo: Casa MIGA.<\/p>\n
The big urban plans that translate into important large-scale interventions at the end, over time, directly influence the small scale.<\/p>\n
\u201cMadrid Rio\u201d, that urban macro-operation that meant the burial of several kilometers of the M-30 highway, meant that where before there was a huge barrier of asphalt and cars that left the city, isolating the working-class neighborhoods of the southwest, today we find a large linear park that accompanies the Manzanares River as it passes through the capital.<\/p>\n
The formerly isolated neighborhoods are suddenly pedestrianly connected to the center of Madrid and enjoy large green areas. The \u201cmacro\u201d urban operation immediately began to profoundly change the \u201cmicro\u201d. <\/p>\n

Casa MIGA is a comprehensive reform project of an old apartment in a simple block of flats in Madrid R\u00edo.<\/p>\n
Casa MIGA aims to demonstrate that the standardized, the depressed, can be reborn with optimism, color, light and imagination.<\/p>\n
A simple apartment of just 60 m2 with an old distribution full of partitions and partitions that suffocate its spatiality, can be converted into a modern and fun home by a good comprehensive reform, adapted to the new contemporary family social structures, perfect for a working couple who He wants to live in a design flat, without spending tens of thousands of euros.<\/p>\n
For this project, the architects have wanted to play a lot with the expressiveness of the materials, the textures, the colors\u2026 Fine and sophisticated finishes are combined with rough surfaces, looking for contrasts that are further enhanced with artificial lighting.<\/p>\n
After studying the structural operation of the building and how to multiply the entry of natural light into the interior, it is decided to eliminate all of the above to create a pair of \u201cclosed boxes\u201d that define the intervention.<\/p>\n

One of the boxes, plated with golden porcelain, encloses the bathroom and separates the kitchen from the living room without doors. The other box, clamped with funny porcelain full of animal and vegetable motifs, encloses the master bedroom. The rest is open. <\/p>\n
Where storage is necessary, OSB cabinets are placed, also in the kitchen, understood as a \u201ctechnological cupboard\u201d where to store pots, cutlery, food\u2026 and integrate appliances, washing machine, etc.<\/p>\n
The architects of OOIIO have also worked on the interior design by choosing the furniture, designing the electrical installation in detail, supervising the painting and lighting. In short, leaving nothing to chance, taking care that the final result surprises and does not leave the very tight starting budget. <\/p>\n
Many times it is better not to despise the old, but to give it a new opportunity, play with its virtues and make it reborn as never before imagined.<\/p>\n
